Upstage Dance Center, opened in 1985, is a dance studio in the Union Grove neighborhood of McDonough, GA.
Our mission is simple: to pass down the art of dance while bringing joy, confidence, and creativity to dancers of all ages and levels. We nurture technique and artistry in our studio – where children stay children, and adults rediscover the joy of movement.
We have 3 divisions:
Recreation – Students who love to dance once a week as a hobby. These dancers learn new technique, skills, and terminology and have the opportunity to perform in our Winter and Spring Recital
Training Company – Serious Dancers who train multiple days a week in many styles of dance, working towards Pre-Professional Status. Our Training Company has the opportunity to perform in our Winter and Spring Recitals and various special performances locally and regionally. This program is by invitation only.
Adult – Our Adult Classes bring high quality dance education to Henry County. We offer classes for those brand new to dance all the way through the Int/Adv level. Our aim is to bring the opportunities of Atlanta dance to the Southside, so you don’t have to make the drive.
Our Styles include:
Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Hip Hop, Theater, Acro, and Partner Dance.
Each dance season starts in August and goes all the way through May. During that time, we perform in our very own Winter and Spring Recitals!
